Jonas Fjeld takes the final round

Jonas Fjeld recently announced that he will retire as a touring musician after 2026, and will play his biggest concert of his career in his hometown of Drammen on September 5th of the same year. But there are also opportunities for those of you who don't make the trip to Drammen!

Fjeld is also taking the concert "Jonas Fjeld sets his bag aside" on tour, with more than 30 concerts around the country in 2026. The full tour list can be found here!

He has entertained us for more than 50 years. He has composed some of Norway's national songs. He has made us laugh, cry and think with his songs and his unique ability to communicate. But everything has an end, also for Jonas Fjeld. Now the time has come to put down his bag after a life in the service of music. But first there must be one last round.

Jonas Fjeld is an artist who, thanks to his long career, is more versatile than many others can dream of becoming. He started as a juggling rocker in the crazy band Jonas Fjeld Rock 'n' Rolf Band, continued with serious funk recorded in the USA, made a country album in Nashville, collaborated with countless Norwegian artists on albums (Hilde Heltberg, Lillebjørn Nilsen, Randi Hansen, Ivar Medaas, Øystein Sunde and others), made a comeback as a solo artist with country-inspired folk rock, played American folk music with Rick Danko from The Band and Eric Andersen, collaborated with the viceroy Ole Paus and the rock poet Henning Kvitnes, threw himself into bluegrass with Chatham County Line, and rose to the top with the legendary Judy Collins. Not to mention the Jonas Fjeld Band, which was a leader in Norwegian rock in the 80s with two Spellemann awards. Which emphasizes that Jonas Fjeld is an artist out of the ordinary - not only in a Norwegian, but also international context.

Now he is approaching the finish line, and it is to be celebrated. Because even though this will be his last round, there is no question of hanging his head and saying goodbye. On the contrary - at these concerts Jonas Fjeld will appear as the artist he fundamentally is: An artist who loves his audience, who loves performing, and who is able to enjoy the moment. Every concert on this tour will be a party. But bring a handkerchief, just in case. Because if there is one thing Jonas Fjeld really knows, it is to elicit the emotions in us. There is no one like him. THAT is to be celebrated.
