Vamp

Vamp has established itself as one of Norway's most beloved bands and has become part of the Norwegian folk soul through its powerful folk rock and its very special expression in the encounter between music and poetry.

Over the course of three decades, they have delivered hundreds of songs about being human. About love and sorrow, myths and illusions, honesty and betrayal, death and life. And the sea.

Kolbein Falkeid's poetry played a central role in the band's lyrical expression from the start, underpinned by captivating melodies and rich instrumentation.

Vamp was formed in Haugesund in 1991 and their debut album " God Morgen Søster" was released in 1993. It won the Spellemannspris on its first attempt, and they immediately captured a large and good audience, which they continuously cultivate with extensive touring throughout the country.

In 2025, de Vamp completed their trilogy "In full symphony" recorded with KORK and the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, followed by a tour with the largest symphony orchestras in the country.

In the fall of 2025, they staged the theater performance "Våken Drøm", based on Vamp's song universe, where they themselves appeared on stage with the actors.

And the first half of 2026 is the time for another studio album.

Through 18 album releases, Vamp has sold over a million records and received five Spellemann awards, as well as the Prøysen Prize and the Medaas Prize.

With a catalog full of well-known and beloved song treasures such as "Tir n'a Noir", "Månemannen", "Liten fuggel", "Ingeborg", "På brønden" and "13 humler", Vamp has become a monument in Norwegian music life with its unique ability to combine tradition and contemporary times - and thus found its way into the hearts of several generations of listeners.
