The beautiful fairy tale of young Clara and the Nutcracker Prince was transformed into the world's most popular classical ballet by composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky in 1892. Today, The Nutcracker is a Christmas tradition all over the world and is performed annually on theater and opera stages in a number of countries. Through the universal language of dance, the story of Clara, her dreams and the struggle between good and evil is told - a tale where love ultimately triumphs.

Dancing snowflakes, the Nutcracker Prince, toy soldiers and the Sugar Plum Fairy come to life in this magical family classic. On Christmas Eve, Clara falls asleep and embarks on a magical journey. She meets her prince, battles an army of mice and rats and is taken to the enchanting Sugar Plum Fairy. But the story is more than a Christmas fairy tale. It is also about growing up, facing challenges and believing in your dreams. Let yourself be carried away into this magical world, leave the stress of everyday life behind you and fill Christmas with wonder, warmth and inspiration.

An adventurous experience for the whole family
The Nutcracker is an ideal introduction to ballet for children. The story is easy to follow, while the music and dance create an experience that fascinates both young and old. The performance offers an atmospheric blend of fairy tales, beautiful costumes and classical ballet, giving the audience a real sense of Christmas.

Ballet dancers at the international top level
The performance is based on Marius Petipa's classical choreography and is performed by Etoile Production, founded in Kyiv by soloists Irina and Anatoly Khandazhevsky from the Kharkiv Opera and Ballet Theater. On stage you will meet professional ballet dancers of the international top level – prizewinners of international competitions, renowned artists and soloists from Ukrainian and European ballet companies. 

Live string quartet on stage
The production uses handmade costumes and high-quality scenography. Together with a well-thought-out lighting design, an atmospheric and elegant performance is created where art is at the center. The performance is accompanied by a string quartet that performs live on stage during selected scenes. This creates a warm and intimate atmosphere and creates a close connection between the music and the dance. In addition, a high-quality recording of the orchestra at the Kharkiv Opera is used, which together with the live music elevates the performance and emphasizes the action on stage.

The performance has no age restrictions and the sound levels meet all recommendations for children. Ballet is ideal for children from 5 years and up, and is therefore recommended for this age group.
