Hovedøen Social Club med Hanne Krogh & Trond-Viggo Torgersen

During Skien World, Hovedøen Social Club invites you to a release party for their new album at Ibsenhuset – together with Norwegian favorites like Hanne Krogh and Trond-Viggo Torgersen. Join us for an evening that offers Norwegian classics with Caribbean joie de vivre. 

For almost 20 years, Hovedøen Social Club has combined Cuban rhythms with famous Norwegian songs. The result is a unique blend of Latin American music, humor and nostalgia that has thrilled audiences all over the country. The breakthrough came with the album " Que viva Noruega!" in 2008, and since then the band has collaborated with, among others, KORK, Det Norske Blåseensemble and Arctic Philharmonic.

Bandleader Sverre Indris Joner is one of Norway's foremost purveyors of Latin American music, and together with some of the country's best Cuban musicians, Hovedøen Social Club creates concerts full of energy, warmth and joy of playing.

This evening they will be joined on stage by two big Norwegian names. Hanne Krogh is known from a long career as an artist and as part of Bobbysocks, who won Eurovision in 1985. Trond-Viggo Torgersen has been a beloved artist, humorist and communicator for decades. Together they are behind many beloved Norwegian cultural moments, with Hovedøen Social Club the stage is set for an evening with both surprises and a musical party atmosphere.
