150 men. One stage. Zero playback.

On Saturday, October 17, 2026, the Peer Gynt Hall in Ibsenhuset will be filled with male choir singing, mood and musical punch when six male choirs gather for the very first time for the Grenland Male Choir Meeting.

On stage are the Male Choir Laudamus from Øystese, Styrbord Halser from Langesund, the Male Choir GROMS from Porsgrunn, Porsgrunds Sangforening, Skien Mannssangforening and Klosterøen & Scheensvassdraget Spadser- og Mandssangforening. So there will be both short-lived singing joy, long-lived choir charm and a choir name that almost requires a breather.

As an extra icing on the cake, we have been lucky enough to have Jostein Fahre join us as a guest soloist. He is a tenor and has performed in various opera productions. Before he took the next step as an opera singer, he was a choir singer in Klosterøen. So: he is in a way coming home again – just with a little more opera influence in his luggage.

And as if that weren't enough: The evening will be topped off with a large community choir of around 150 singers. It will be beautiful, powerful and probably impossible to leave the hall without humming a song or two.
