Terje Tvedt is one of Norway's most prominent voices in research on the role of water in history and society. He is professor emeritus at the University of Bergen and research professor at the National Library. Tvedt has written a number of key works on the importance of water globally – from the Nile Valley to Norway – and led the mega-investment A History of Water. He is also known for his award-winning and popular TV series about the history and future of water, which has made him one of the country's most engaging communicators.
