What happens when one of Norway's most distinctive voices reads an entire novel from start to finish? Welcome to a completely unique evening with Erlend Loe, where he reads "Kukene/Kukane" in its entirety, live from the stage!
“One day, Tander’s penis falls off while he’s in the shower. It’s not ideal and it’s a bad fit, to say the least.” This is how Erlend Loe’s novel “Kukene/Kukane” begins – a story about loss, attachment and freedom, about the body, shame and what it really means to be whole. Loe is known as a unique reader – with humor, warmth and perfect timing. If you’ve heard any of his books as audiobooks, you know what we’re talking about. This is a real reading marathon that lasts 2 hours and 45 minutes, including two 15-minute breaks where the audience can stretch their legs and buy something at the bar.
Erlend Loe's combination of humor, seriousness and existential insight has made him one of the most prominent voices in contemporary Norwegian literature. He made his debut with "Tatt av kvinnen" in 1993 and had his big breakthrough with "Naiv.Super", an international success that was quickly described as a generational novel. Loe has since made his mark with books such as "L", "Doppler" and "Muleum og Helvete". He is also one of the country's most popular children's authors, particularly known for the Kurt books, and is behind TV series such as "Kampen for tilværelsen" and "Gutta på skauen".
