Barnas verdensdag 2026

Welcome to the first day of the Skien World festival in Skien. On this day we invite children and families with children to join in activities, concerts and performances with inspiration from all over the world. Suitable for kindergarten and primary school children together with their guardians. All activities are free!

Program from 12:00 to 3 p.m.
Doors open at 11:30.

Program:

12:00: World Children's Day opens in the foyer at Ibsenhuset

12.15–12.45: The performance "The Balafon and the Talking Tree" with Solo Diarra
Location: Hedvig's dormitory (downstairs of Ibsenhuset ).

13:00–13:45: " Sing a Song!" Sing-along for families with children in the foyer, with teachers from the Cultural School and students from KveldsMIKS

1:45 p.m.–2:15 p.m.: Drum workshop with Solo Diarra.
Location: Hedvigs Hybel (downstairs of Ibsenhuset )

14.15–15.00: Concert with Kouame Serebra
Location: Eyolf in Ibsenhuset (lower floor)

2:30 PM–3:00 PM: The performance "The Balafon and the Talking Tree" with Solo Diarra
Location: Hedvig's dormitory (downstairs of Ibsenhuset ).

12:00–15:00 Workshops with Halloween decorations, face painting, origami and masks.

Food and drink sales at the Brænn Coffee Shop and FUKI/Ukrainian Association.

Wadajir association sells:

• malawax (thin Somali pancakes)

• Shaah / Somali tea (tea spiced with cardamom, cinnamon and ginger)

• sambuusa (triangular pastry filled with spicy meat and vegetables)"
