Skiensjazzdraget: Ståle Storløkken & Scheen Jazzorkester

Since 2010, Scheen Jazzorkester has produced and released eight albums, seven of which contain original commissioned works from several of the band's own members.
Now, however, the stage is set for a new external composer, and this time Ståle Storløkken has written the music.

The work is loosely based on Storløkken's interest in electronically produced sound. For a number of years he has built up an instrumentarium of quirky synths with a unique sound, as well as self-built electronic modulators that provide a basis for eternal inspiration. This evening, Storløkken will bring some of his instruments to Skien and join the orchestra on stage.

The project premiered in the spring of 2023, and will now be recorded. This concert will be a kind of dress rehearsal before the orchestra travels to Oslo to work in the studio.
