Xavi Torres Trio – Spanish piano virtuoso on a green Norway tour.

Spanish piano virtuoso Xavi Torres is one of the most outstanding young musicians on the European jazz scene. His music is highly imaginative and melodic,
while being rhythmically very strong and energetic. He combines his Mediterranean roots with experiences from Amsterdam, classical music and South American rhythms. The compositions and the interaction with the band are in constant development and contain a lot of exploration, which makes each concert unique and takes the audience through a wide range of emotions.

Last year, he released “Quarantena Songs” on Dox Records, an album that won the Enderrock Award for best album of the year, all music conceived during the pandemic lockdown. As a challenge and exercise, Torres wrote one new piece of music every day. The goal of that “exercise” was to keep his energy and creativity alive.
The result is music that is connected to the real times and their challenges, but also speaks for itself. The music is not closed in, but extroverted, full of
energy, air and surplus.

The tour is organized by Better Live , which is a European collaborative project with the goal of a more sustainable tour of European musicians, and it is organized in collaboration with Sørnorsk Jazzsenter, Skiensjazzdraget and Skien World.
