Skiensjazzdraget (på Blackbird, Klosterøya): TU´BA

Vocalist Live Maria Roggen and tuba player Lars Andreas Haug - the duo Tu'ba - met as young jazz course participants in 1994 and played at the Molde Jazz Festival in 1995. The album "Tu'ba", released in 1998, is a small gem of fine and distinctive music that continues to attract new and curious listeners.

Tu'ba worked together for a few years after the release, but never released another album. Since then, Roggen and Haug have developed into prominent performers as both bandleaders/composers and ensemble musicians in European jazz and improvisational music. After many years of hiatus, the duo Tu'ba is back in full force in 2024, celebrating the 30th anniversary of its inception.

They are now on a South Norwegian Jazz Center tour to Agder, Vestfold and Telemark to play a total of nine concerts - welcome to Skiensjazzdraget on Saturday 16 November!
