Mari Boine med band

The iconic Sami-Norwegian artist and campaigner Mari Boine is one of the closest things to a living legend in this country, and on March 30 she's coming to Ibsenhuset.

Mari Boine is known as one of the most groundbreaking musical pioneers in Norwegian music. She is difficult to pigeonhole, drawing inspiration from jazz, joik, folk music, rock and electronica. Nevertheless, her music is often classified as World Music - in the richest sense of the genre.

At the beginning of 2024, Boine impressed both old and new fans in "Hver Gang Vi Møtes", which opened the eyes of a new generation to her strong personal story and powerful musical expression.
The TV success was followed by Boine's longest tour so far in her career, and recently Mari Boine announced that she will release a new album this fall.

The album "Alva" will be her first in many years with a full band, and will be followed by a number of new concert dates both in and outside Norway. There's every reason to look forward to both new music and concert experiences. A woman's age into her musical career, Mari Boine manages to constantly renew her expression and tell stories that capture our attention and touch us deeply.
