The ballet is choreographed by Andreas Heise, who worked for many years at the Norwegian Opera & Ballet. The idea and set designer for the project was the founder of the Classical Ukrainian Etoile Ballet, Irina Khandazhevskaya.

"The Ice Princess" is a ballet based on the fairy tale "The Snow Queen" by Hans Christian Andersen. It is a fascinating, romantic story to music by Mozart, Vivaldi, Halvorsen, Grieg and Leontovich, which will give you unforgettable, joyful emotions and fill you with inspiration and new dreams. A beautiful princess, robbers, forest fairies, a funny snowman, wonderful trolls and, of course, a brave young man play on the stage.

The beautiful princess Sofia is sad in her castle. Loneliness turned her heart to ice. When she sees distant lands in a magic mirror where people happily celebrate Christmas, she decides to travel there just to get a little closer to the place where everyone is happy. A fateful meeting with one of the villagers, a cheerful boy, made her so excited that her icy heart ached in her chest. She disappeared and froze the entire town. But miracles always happen at Christmas. The young man's love and kind heart will lead him through many adventures and dangers to the castle, where he will find his beloved, melt the heart of the beautiful princess and save the inhabitants of his town.

The production of classical choreography by Marius Petipa will be performed by the Classical Ukrainian Etoile Ballet – a company organized in Kyiv by solo dancers of the Ukrainian Kharkiv Opera and Ballet Theatre, Irina and Anatoly Khandazhevsky. The cast includes professional ballet dancers – winners of international ballet competitions, Honored Artists of Ukraine, solo dancers of Ukrainian and, from February 2022, European theatres. The performance involves artists of the highest level, and the company uses authentic, hand-made theatre costumes and sets in its productions. A professional theatre lighting designer accompanies the ballet performance, creating an unforgettable atmosphere during the show. The music is reproduced in a very high-quality audio recording of the Kharkiv Opera Orchestra.
