D´Sound

Now D'Sound is back with its original lineup! Kim Ofstad, Jonny Sjo and Simone Eriksrud are ready for more live performances and promise first-class music experiences. The band is known for their dynamic live shows, and their unique ability to mix genres and create an energetic and catchy expression.


D'Sound was established in Oslo in 1993 and has since been a leading name in Norwegian music. With a sound that combines acid jazz, soul, R&B, funk, pop and drum 'n' bass, the band has been groundbreaking both nationally and internationally. The band consists, as mentioned, of Kim Ofstad (drums), Jonny Sjo (bass) and Simone Eriksrud (vocals), who together have given us unforgettable songs such as "Real Name", "Smooth Escape", and "Down on the Street".

D'Sound debuted with "Spice of Life" in 1997, an album that brought them international recognition. Their unique style led them to tour across Europe, including concerts with Roachford in Germany and performances at The Jazz Café in London. They also made an impact in Asia with frequent rotation on MTV Asia and performing as the first international band on MTV Japan.

Over the years, D'Sound has continued to develop their music with successful albums such as "Beauty is a Blessing" (1998) and "Doublehearted" (2003), both of which contributed to the band's solid status. After Simone took a break from the band in 2018, Mirjam Omdal took over as vocalist, resulting in the release of the album "Unicorn" (2019) and the band's participation in Melodi Grand Prix.

In addition to their own achievements, D'Sound has also distinguished themselves as producers and songwriters for several major artists, including Madcon, Ceelo Green, Frida Amundsen and Marion Ravn. In 2022, they celebrated the 25th anniversary of "Spice of Life" with a reunion with Simone and special concerts where they performed the entire album.
